Nova swings again on his new CD, I Could Have Told You. In addition to new recordings, Nova pulled three recordings from his vault of guest artists he has recorded with over the years: “Day by Day” and “I Love You” with the amazing Eddie Harris, and “Secret Love” with Fred Wesley. It doesn’t get any better than these great horn players mixing it up with Nova’s Guitar! In addition, Nova has released his original tune “Where’s Buddy?”, a tune dedicated to his dear friend Buddy Catlett. Enjoy the beautiful technique and artistry of Brian Nova’s Jazz guitar and vocals on I Could Have Told You.

Brian Nova combines a rare mixture of lightning-speed fretwork and beautiful romantic Jazz guitar in his fifth CD The Shadow of Your Smile. He is the only guitarist in the world who has studied and toured with the two titans of jazz guitar; Herb Ellis and Joe Pass. Although Nova sings on most of his recordings and during performances, this CD is all instrumental. Brian Nova brings his hard swinging Jazz guitar and smooth vocals to the famous Seattle spot Belltown Billiards for this live performance recording. He is accompanied by the late, great Peter Vinikow on bass, and favorite drummer Greg Williamson. He brings in a number of veteran Jazz horn players such as Hadley Caliman, Jabo Ward, Gary Schutes and Buddy Catlett to sit in on the session to give each tune a special and unique feel. And his own popular composition, “Blues for Joe”, is delivered as a solo guitar piece to truly demonstrate Nova’s mastery of the guitar.

Brian Nova presents his first CD, Jazz Inflections, and comes out swinging! Produced in 1991, Nova’s first CD is an early glimpse of this guitar virtuoso’s talent. This CD is primarily instrumental, with one cut including his vocals on the tune Fortune’s Child. The first three tunes are original songs by Nova and his swinging pianist Steve Bige. The other tunes are great standards. All together, this CD swings hard and for fans of Brian Nova, is a CD to add to your collection!

The title says it all: Stephanie Porter is one of the most complex individuals and unpredictable singers I've ever met. She runs a gamut from demure to bombastic... from naïve to shrewd... from saintly to sultry. Lord how this lady sings... And Lord, how her mood swings.
